The argument.



The massive self-assembling, self repairing Sentinel unleashed at the end of last issue has swatted
away Logan into the Pacific, right towards Utopia.

The Sentinel has one command. Destroy Utopia island.

That massive feat Scott pulled to clear sentinels "off my lawn?" Meant nothing to it, as it got back up like professional wrestler the Undertaker. With the X-men scattered across the world fighting the other activated Sentinels, it's up to an exhausted Scott, the Five Lights, a few New X-men...
... and Wolverine.

Wolverine and Scott argue about sacrifice and escape. Not everyone will survive this if they stay and fight. Wolverine is against putting kids in harms way, Scott is pro-survival of the species as a united front.

Scott gives his command, Logan doesn't like it and walks away. The choice is given to the kids to follow Logan or stay and fight. They stay.

So Logan makes his own move.

FYI, this particular Sentinel is programmed for one thing. Destroy Utopia.
Not a mutant hunter with mutant tracking abilities. Its there to destroy the island.

Interesting, and very unSentinel-like. Are we sure we know all it's capabilities at this point?

That being said, whoever created it set it that task and also made it able to take a full optic blast? Damn, talk about over-engineering.

(Also, where are Doug and Lock in the middle of all this? They're usually pretty good dealing with Sentinels)

I think they dropped a line about Dani's team being stranded somewhere due to the lack of teleporters.

Ah, I see, so Doug and Lock quietly slipped out of the story via the gaping plothole. Gotcha!

It's only a plothole in the sense that Machiavellian super-intelligent super-evil children who've plotted this all are a plotholes.

Jeffries, the mutant that makes machines, was able to access it's core programming. Nothing high end to tweak or hack, but he found it's target. and it has no mutant sensors to be used to redirect it.

Jeffries was there? Why exactly isn't that thing Box v. 5.7 already?

1. Its core programming / function was more muscle than mind for him to override

2. It zapped him and Dr. Nemesis

What does programming have to do with anything? That's not how Jeffries' power works, while there is the aspect of instinctive creation to it it's basically the manipulation of mechanical objects (as opposed to his brother's whose was the manipulation of living organisms).

If he wanted to turn the mechanical parts of the thing into a gigantic steam operated vuvuzela I don't see how any programming would even come into it.
