I agree, the combination of more delicate inking (There are actually three inkers, Al Vey, Mike Perkins and George himself) and a wider colour palette (colours by "Hi-Fi") does make it feel a little... different.

And the week resolved itself satisfactorily I'm happy to say, but it's not a week I plan on expending a lot of memory capacity one...
