Actually, that happens when you get shot in the cerebellum, where the vital functions are regulated. You can get shot in the cerebrum and live, although that's still quite rare. Especially when it's point blank.

Especially when it fails to penetrate the skull. Like I always say:sometimes bullets fail. Like the 7 year old girl who was shot 7 times, she's still kicking, none the worse for it. Mostly it depends on where the energy of the bullet is expelled, if it is all used up trying to get through a helmet and your skull, you might be alright, if it's all used inside, bouncing off the back of your skull, you are toast.

This type of art, I find very artist and good for individual pieces, but not very good for comics I'm supposed to read through. The art's more for holding you there than quick absorption of information.

Opposite for me; I like that kind of art in sequence, though not all the way through, just or a number of pages--which is the case here, since that art is used for heat sequences and apparently near-death visions.
