You bring up a good point about Jim Lee's design when comparing it with Doom. To be honest, the reason I'm rarely a fan of Jim Lee is that he has a great tendency to OVER design. It's got to be bigger, flashier, and unnecessary. He designed nearly all of the new 52, didn't he? If so, I point you to Deathstroke, for one. Or Superman's armour.

But then you compare it with Cyborg from Doom here. And it's simplistic. You can still tell he's a cyborg (and still THE Cyborg)and it doesn't look like he's wearing metal bendy straws on his fingers.
