io9 has the latest clip from the upcoming Legend of Korra series.

Deal with it.

Edit: I also added some music clips from the Korra soundtrack..... just to get you to click.

As I write this, I can find no other video for the above clip, and I can't paste embed code.
I will update if I can find anything later, but this just hit da interwebs about an hour ago.

As for the music:

The Bending Battle theme sounds like Prelude To War from Battlestar Galactica, but I am not complaining.

for legality:

The Master at work.
Thank you Sifu Toph, may I have another!

Awww. Korra's such a cutie. Though that's some surprisingly good bending even for a child I'd think.

You kidding? That's surprisingly good bending especially for a child! Hell, Avatars are supposed to struggle with their opposite element, and here Korra is already firebending. I didn't know that was possible.

Heh. I actually did mean especially.

Not necessarily. Struggling with their natural opposite element was only a theory that Katara postulated when Aang had trouble learning Earth.

But up until now Roku was the only other Avatar who we've seen training to master the other elements. And that was only in a flashback. He didn't mention he had any particular difficulty learning Waterbending.

Maybe struggling with learning an element just depends on the Avatar and their approach to fighting and their way of thinking.

Korra seems more aggressive than Aang, maybe she'll have trouble learning airbending because she can't think like an Air Nomad monk.

I seem to recall him saying that yes, waterbending was especially hard for him. It was easy to miss, but I'm pretty sure he said it.

But I think it's already been established that Korra's going to be unusual even for an Avatar, and not just from her aptitude of her bending arts.

Correct. Roku in his training flashback mentioned waterbending was especially challenging for him.

"I'm the Avatar! You gotta deal with it!"

Pint-Sized Powerhouse, indeed.

Wow. So when Brike said that they were making Korra to be the polar opposite of Aang, they really weren't kidding.

Aang had to struggle to learn the elements, while Korra already knew three when she was three. Aang didn't learn he was the Avatar until shortly before he ran away; Korra has known for pretty much all her life. Aang didn't really like being the Avatar at first, while Korra, well....

Aang; "I never wanted to be the Avatar."

Maybe thats why Aang had such a hard time learning...he never wanted it and only when he started accepting it did he finally get the hang of things. While Korra is diving into the elements head first.

And from the previews it looks like Korra is gonna have the hardest time with Air while getting the other three down really quick.

I wish we had a clip of the White Lotus Members after her little display...I think it could be summed as "OMGWFTBBQ!? Where's Iroh when we NEED HIM!!!"

My reaction is a mix of "HOLY SHIT THAT'S AWESOME!" and "Now how in the everloving hells will they reconcile Korra's skills with everything we know about Avatars to date?"

Hm, well maybe the Avatars increase in power with every incarnation, and since Aang was the last most powerful on his own plus the power of the previous ones, Korra is now tapping into a vast pool of spiritual energy to work this?

And she is meant to be a prodigy, maybe like how some kids are just naturally talented at music or the like, she's naturally talented at bending?

From: [personal profile] auggie18 Avatar ever. Sorry Aang, but DAMN! This girl is AWESOME.

Also, she actually looks and sounds like a kid. Good on them.

Makes me wonder if Korra being so adept at bending is due to the near death of the Avatar forever when Azula lightning'd Aang. Like the Avatar State made her super adept to somehow heal itself. I've questioned how much it was harmed, if at all, since Aang seemed to be unable to use the state again until his battle with Ozai. Aang did technically die in battle with Azula only to be revived, I assume that hurt the Avatar line somehow.

Korra will likely be a bending prodigy except she'll find it seemingly impossible to do air.

Yeah, they openly said that she was going to be a prodigy in the information about the show, and WILL be struggling with air.

That might be, as they said, because she struggles with the spiritual side of bending, and considering the Air Nomads were a race of monks and nuns... chances are the methods on how to do airbending will be a little out of her skillset, as it were.

Heh heh heh, just realised: If she retains the Toph-aspect of her character, that might explain the conflict that she's going to get into with Toph's daughter, Chief of Police Lin Bei Fong.

Because, one: Korra apparently is one of those crimefighters that cause massive amounts of property damage when saving people, and two: it would be like a teenage version of her mother running around messing things up... which would be awkward.

Didn't notice until second viewing, that raising Korra seems to be pretty hard on her parents. Their place is a mess and her mom looks like she needs a week's sleep.

Parenthood indeed, though I can't really tell if the house is untidy, things'll get like that with a kid running around. XD
