Date: 2012-05-15 06:08 am (UTC)I'm really disliking the Teen Titans art. Really really.
The Shade cover is fantastic! But I don't read the Shade. I'll have to make a quick search about it.
Might give Prince of Cats a try.
Seen the other solicits, one in particular in which I'm trying to find the bright sides. (Shameless hope! Watch me cover my ears and sing loudly!)
Ok, so, what the Hell is a Blood Beetle? Is it somehow related to the tick and is cousin to the dung beetle? Scarabaeus sanguinis? Where does it live and how much rubbing alcohol will I need if it gets behind my ear?

Date: 2012-05-15 06:50 am (UTC)God remember when we were afraid he became Black Beetle after something happened to Brenda? I'd almost prefer that now.
Then it's worse than I expected.
Date: 2012-05-15 07:13 am (UTC)Paco's supervillain identity... I would've agreed with that,
if his evil plan was to ban pants all over the world. Oh, the humanity!
Man, I cannot undo my sadness now.

Date: 2012-05-15 10:01 am (UTC)Like Blood Beetle here, and a character called Hellspont over in LIefeld's Grifter series, and Knightfall over in Batgirl.
I was fortunate enough to miss that era of comics for the most part the first time, (I read the BTAS tie-in comics and then spotted until the early 2000s when I started collecting the No Man's Land trades, and from there the rest of the DCU) Seems a shame that it appears to be coming back again.

Date: 2012-05-16 12:33 am (UTC)Maybe my love for Azrael in Batman comics, or my love for Steel and Superboy, is talking, but even there were obscure comics like The Spectre that were very good.
Hell I got the first 100 issues of all three Spawn, Witchblade and Savage Dragon.
I want to remember the good times not that DC put the things I try to forget in front of my face.
PD: Also, before Internet comics arrived 10 or 5 years late and not every comic arrived, so I should say I dont remember the 90 cause I never saw more than 3 or 4 series from that period. So maybe my argument is invalid
Still, this is so very bad

Date: 2012-05-16 07:54 pm (UTC)That said, I did pick up #9, because it tied in to Green Lantern: New Guardians...it was actually pretty fun. Got a good laugh from what happens when Jaime meets Bleez for the first time...in an awfully close manner, too. XD

Date: 2012-05-16 04:07 am (UTC)I'm starting to memorise the dialogue.
Gosh, what am I doing with my life?

Date: 2012-05-16 10:00 am (UTC)The case with Blood Beetle, if it's Paco, is that the DCnU reboot version of Khaji Da took over Jaime's body and stabbed Paco to death in order to keep Jaime's secret identity... secret. Jaime, horrified over being made to murder one of his best friends against his will, forces Khaji to heal Paco with the suits many magical alien whatsits. But since the suit is designed to kill rather than heal, the result was that Paco became possessed by a substandard version of Jaime's own scarab.
Then, in order to save Brenda's life, after Paco!Beetle rampages around El Paso and knocks down a chunk of the Reyes' house, Jaime!Beetle grabs Brenda and punches her in the face to trick Paco!Beetle into thinking that he's evil too.
Yeah, the new series is pretty much the antithesis of the original one, stick with the one in the Young Justice cartoon and comic, he's actually like preboot Jaime!

Date: 2012-05-17 07:04 am (UTC)Good idea. And I'm going to go read the TPBs again. They actually have happy things in them.
