Remembering Janet Van Dyne.

Which is worse than it sounds.

I wonder what this'll do to Matt's brain. Gaaahhhh but this is interesting.

How has Daredevil been? I had to drop it after getting tired of that Megacrime story and after the mini-event Omega Effect didn't even finish it.

So as wacky and as cool as the sound of Hank Pym wading through Matt's brain is - why couldn't Tony just cook up some kind of tech-thing in a syringe and let that do the job?

It's Doom tech, he probably has Stark coutnermeasures built in as standard.

Let's not even pretend that Tony can manufacture any kind of threat to Doom's machines.

Have you read the classic Iron Man 150, where Tony and Doom are stuck in Arthurian era Britain and have basically to cobble together a time travel machine using their own and each others armours as the only suitable raw materials. Each is forced to admit (to themselves) that the other is their match technologically speaking.

Well it was more of a joke than anything, but no i had not heard of that. That actually sounds like a lot of fun.

It was where Doom met his on-again, off-again girlfriend Morgan le Fey, at least until the Mighty Avengers messed things up and she went all vengeful on him for missing a date due to being kidnapped by Ms. Marvel and co.

I wonder if they are going to remember that Hank is in a happy relationship with Tigra and raising their son* together

*Okay so little William's dad was a Skrull who was masquerading as Pym and got Tigra pregnant but genetically the kid is Hanks

Why wouldn't they? Just because Hank's in a relationship, doesn't mean he wouldn't still think about the woman who had an incredibly defining influence on his life.

If they're going to show that, though, then Hank's first wife should make an appearance too. He was already a widower when he met Janet.

Check the tags. I think somebody posted some related scans, once upon a time.

Long story short: Her name was Maria and she was young, beautiful, and from Communist Hungary. She insisted on visiting the homeland on their honeymoon and was killed by officials who wanted revenge against her family because her father (?) was anti-Communist.

I think Jim Shooter had an Avengers story where he had Pym state that the first of his many mental breakdowns happened after Maria was killed.

I wonder what this'll do to Matt's brain.

Probably nothing. I mean, Pym's brain patterns haven't really caused anything bad to happen. Ever.

Right, Ultrons one through gazillion?

There was that one Ultron that was an okay guy. Too bad he died saving his "dad".

Matt's an organic creature with his own set of organs and pre-established neural networks, he's not an AI being built/born from the ground up, so he'll probably be okay . . . in the mid-to-long term.

Short term . . . eeeeeh . . . but it's still probably less dangerous than the rampaging doom-bots.

How did Pym get into the brain? I was writing a fic with similar events, and getting a tiny person into the brain is tricky...

Maybe through the spinal column? Otherwise the brain's pretty tightly enclosed in a bone-box.

The major sticking point was the thick membrane, or there would be access through the nose. Spinal column seems the most feasible, but it's a long trip for a tiny person.

If it were the Atom, I'd assume he rode in on the incoming arteries, but I don't think Pym can get that small.

Maybe they made a small incision, like they do when they remove brain tumors? My mom had that done and they did it in the roof of her mouth, I think, and went in through the sinuses.

The roof of the mouth is a good spot for surgeries as you don't need to break as much bone as you would going through the top.

If he were the Atom I'd say the eye is a good bet as the optic nerve is basically a direct link (more direct to the higher processing levels of the brain than the spinal column, which passes by the cerebellum first), and there's enough fluid surrounding the eyeball to slip in. I think Hank's too big for that though...

Yes? And? Are you saying that that invalidates his previous expertise as a surgeon before he learned hocus pocus? or are you saying his presence makes any book awesomely magical? Or are you saying he should've used magic to fix the problem?

It's Hank Pym. The guy probably shrunk down so small he passed between Matt's cells or whatever.

I want to see the situation where someone who is shrunk down to pass between cells ends up with random proteins and glyco-lipids stuck to them.

It would be neat if Hank's memory of Janet remains with Matt so that when she finally comes back from death that he ends up falling for her. Matt falling for the girl of "his" dreams.

It'd be interesting here, but what he seems to be getting here is just the visual of Janet, so unless he winds up keeping his sight after all this, I don't know how he would connect it to her.

We got that in teenager format during Civil War, when Chase Stein and Victor Mancha developed mega-feelings for Cassie Lang after getting up close and personal with Jonas/Vision II's brain patterns.
