At one point in 1999, Superman was on some sort of overprotective binge (I can't recall exactly why, some crisis or other he was guilt tripping over), and cameo-ing in every DC title they could cram him into...
This landed him smack bang in the middle of issue 2 of the new "Titans" comic, and as they were hardly up and running themselves, it was not the most comfortable meeting.
Something tells me that as this was an editorially mandated crossover and Devin Grayson making the best of it.
So, just after trashing a new, and rather dull, incarnation of the HIVE, the Titans are congratulating each other on a job well done when Superman arrives out of the blue. It's an interesting take, some of the Titans have known him for ages, others have never met him before, most are in awe. It's akin to the President/Queen dropping in unannounced.
No one is quite sure how to react, but this next page gives a pretty excruciating summation of the situation...
You know he means well, and some of the beats are sincere (his commiserating with Kory) but he comes across as so so damn patronising..
They head back to the HIVE base whose position they have triangulated, with Mother-Hen Superman coming with them to keep them safe, no on is really happy, but their lovable leader decides to take matters in hand...

There are very few who could say that to Superman
And in this next page, I don't think Donna's logic really works there (as Mr and Mrs Grayson would attest if they weren't, y'know, dead from a fall. But keep track of what the cute arobat is saying here...

Now that's respect.
