The set up for this issue is that Prof Frank is trading his 2-month out of date smart phone for a newer model... which is dispose via sling-shot, (Springfield's level of environmental awareness...) and hit Milhouse in the face and Bart uses it, as it still good for the rest of the month... for awhile. After getting bore with it, Bart gives it to Lisa, who discovers "Chatter". She tries to start her own following, and this happens...

Wow. Lisa getting bum about no one noticing her... how original... Lisa maybe the best member of the Simpsons... but she does have some major flaws. She takes pride in being academically gifted, but hates to be actually being challenged with something that is hard for her to do. She talks about free expression and art, but pretty much caves in or goes off the deep end when grades are involved (much worst during a teacher strike). She is pretty ungrateful for the work her parents provide for her, much least appreciate whenever they do something with her.  And she tries to put her values and pains in front of others, like how she stage a city wide blackout after the entire town demanded light after an increase of crime at night, she has at least 2 musicians had songs that involve her someway, and yet we're to feel sad for her whenever she is said, all the while the writers are making Bart into "Vanilla Ice"  (though I am sure that is a result of overbearing parents who want to ruin the awesome that was Bart in the first seasons), Skinner, the man who is passionate about school but lack funds to make it a reality, is the butt joke in the entire town....yeah, they're still doing that)... I know she is going through a blue period in rough times, but she is rather lucky considering other people in town..

Lisa goes forward, giving out words of insight (and slight political messages) and gets a HUGE following... MEME HUGE... except everyone thinks Maggie is making them. The rest of issue is Lisa becoming  bigger and bigger hit in town, to the point Maggie is the local celebrity. This angrys up  Bart, as everyone is paying attention to Maggie instead of him, and he set up to see WHO is really making those chats, as Maggie can't do it and doesn't suspect Lisa because she not jealous of the attention Maggie is getting.

Maggie's popularity gets SO big, that she is going to get her OWN play. During the press announcement for it, Lisa accidentally chats while Maggie was in Marge's arms, and Milhouse catches her on his phone. ANd so, during the night of the play...

Bart doesn't want to make the reveal, as then Lisa would get the attention he would crave instead of Maggie, so he decides to let her see Maggie get the fame she has made for her, while never be able achieve for her own. But throughout the issue, Lisa was okay with Maggie getting the fame, content on knowing people actually read and LIKE her chats... that is until this page...

She was okay with Maggie getting ALL that publicity... but when her favorite enviro-theme pop boy band that would fade away in the next issue of the comic (basically equality of Simpson's time of 2 years), that's her breaking point... see what I mean by my little off track rant?

She blames the internet... she is SO Homer's child... and as much as a snob that play-writer is... he does have a point. Ned Flanders HAS gone from the town's nicest guy to the town's religious jerk...

The issue ends with Marge saying that she blames herself for Lisa's lack of attention, and even though Homer lost that check to Milhouse's dad to cover for Milhouse's new glasses, he does follows Lisa's real account before the prepaid minutes of the Frank's phone is spent up. Proving that Homer may not the best Dad, or even a great Dad, but he can be there for his kids when they need him...
