That mean ol' Spidey, trying to arrest a murderer on Christmas Eve! Has he no shame?

Reminds me of that one Question story where Vic lets the Riddler, who has been executing hostages for getting riddles wrong, go free because it's Christmas.
I know Christmas makes people sentimental, but still, the dudes are supervillains!

I think most times it goes down like this, Spidey'll see a villain and go after them, only later realizing they weren't actually committing a crime, it's just a sort of genre convention since it's more action packed this way.
That said, even if Ock isn't an aimless psychopath like Carnage, Spidey should definitely take any opportunity within reason to catch him, since minding his own business or not, Doc Ock is still a very bad dude.

It happens with the Rhino every so often, and the Sandman sometimes. As much as it doesn't seem like his thing, he's much more a "shoot first, ask questions later" kind of hero.

It's always really annoyed me how oblivious Aunt May was written for most of her history. I'll let her hatred/fear of Spider-Man slide, but how her thinking of Doc Ock as nice dude was just too much for me. I much prefer Ultimate Aunt May, who was always written as a real character instead of a plot device designed to make Peter's life more melodramatic.

Its the rule of Bendis, let him write the characters he likes, and he'll make them as real as possible. Aunt May included.

Nice way to celebrate these holidays than with this nostalgic tale with Spidey and Doc Ock. Do you wanna know what would have been a nice ending? Otto staying for the party and sharing some of his famous Danish pastry (it worked on the first annual). Good times!
