This. Personally, I've enough faith in Lemire that I don't think divorce is going to be the result. The book clearly works because of the family dynamic, to a degree, and whilst that's clearly going to change without poor Cliff, I think it'll only be something of a separation before they come back together. Again, the family dynamic's too important here.
Even if Buddy did become a bachelor, however - then it's not going to be specifically the same as Clark or Barry, is it? He'd specifically be divorced and a single parent, which isn't the same thing as those two at all. So even if they did? This isn't going to make Buddy 'younger' or 'edgier' - Although I can't blame some fans for being that jaded about story developments like this, the shitty writers clearly have ruined things for writers who might actually want to do things properly.
Lemire is till going to writing the book. The next stuff will be about dealing with his family and Buddy becoming famous from that movie he shot. Lemire is also moving Black Orchid from Justice League Dark is moving over as well since Lemire plans to visit ARGUS/taproot/Project Ascension in animal man.
