This seems pretty out of character for Jean, in my opinion. If she wanted Warren to stay, she'd try talking instead of telepathy. It seems more in character for her to get pissed that he doesn't want to stay with them and storm off. Then again, her going all LEEEROY JEEEEANKINS at a group of opponents without thinking first is pretty in character for her.

I don't know how to feel about this.

Also, duh Stepford Cuckoos, you're better than the "The Great Jean Grey," she had her telepathy unlocked, like, a day ago.

her getting her telepathy unlocked might also be why that instead of talking is her new default setting. she just learned to do this.

also, aside from warren, her future is the most effed up.

She's gained the power back, but has had bugger all experience of using it, so it being her default setting, never mind one that she seems to be good at to the extent of causing issues for the Cuckoo's trying to stop her, makes not a lot of sense.

but she's not using it well. jean is the most powerful telepath, like ever. but she JUST unlocked it. she's using raw power (much like emma stated Rachel uses) Emma was able to fend her off because she does not know the finer points of it.

it's the way i always saw Princess Leia. In the EU it never surprised me that she was as powerful as she was. she's a skywalker and had luke died, she would have been the last hope. She used her powers subltly while in politics, to influence things slightly. She knows the fine motor controls of her powers. she excelled at being a Jedi knight (and has ben stated to be on the fast track to master) because she learned how to do the harder stuff. force leaping, light saber fighting, telekinesis, all easy once she learned how to do the harder stuff.

another case was i think quentin quire (or maybe Hellion) he was able to punch a hole in the side of a building, but could not lift a paper clip, or thread a needle because that took too much precision.

Jean here, is able to control Angel because it's one of her strongest abilities. but can't beat the cuckoos because she does not have full control.

The follow-up scene between Jean and Kitty does a good job of explaining why Jean lashes out like this, and she realizes she crossed the line. But Kitty & co. seriously need to get an experienced telepath/telekinetic to train her (Rachel Rachel Rachel Rachel *ahem*), because pep talks are not going to be enough.

The X-Men should really have an on-staff therapist for helping time-displaced, back-from-the-dead, omnipotent teenagers. God knows they'd be busy.

Gus Grimm got written out as did Laurie (Wallflower's) father. Who was slated to be a Purple Man-like villain and then that storyline was dropped.

And Doc Samson didn't do the best of jobs, though I loved the comics where he worked with the X-Factor teams. Memorable issues, those.

There's Dr. Lyszinski, a human therapist who's treated Kitty and Rachel. I doubt anyone at Marvel remembers her, though. :/

Somehow, I don't think getting 16 year old Jean to spend time with her possible/alternate/ future/ whatever daughter that is older than her is really going to help Jean get over her future shock issues.

Is Psylocke on Wolverine's side? Betsy's been both telepathic and telekinetic, and would probably be a better teacher choice.

Psylocke's at the school, but she's working through her own trauma and anger issues and according to Uncanny X-Force her attempts at teaching went very badly. (Like, didn't she assault Quentin IIRC?) I don't think she'd be a good fit for Jean right now. The X-Men are kinda running low on telepaths--there's also Chamber, but I don't know how well that would work out either.

It would be a big shock to work with Rachel, definitely, but Rachel's pretty much the only one at the school who's an Omega Level telepath/teacher/time-traveler. She's gone through most of what young!Jean is going through now. It would be nice if Logan, Kitty, et. all, would acknowledge Rachel's existence, at least.

Plus Rachel has issues with being the most mind controllable telepath in the world

I honestly don't think it'll be any worse than telling Warren to go hang out with the guy piloting his corpse around. It might even help her to be able to talk with someone who has experience with being displaced in time.

Well, she probed Hank's mind and saw her Future Self's entire life, including both of her deaths. She even felt (somehow) all the events from an emotional and physical standpoint. As such experiencing your death, the genocide you committed under possession, the loss of a child, your clone, Sinister, having three time streamed adult children, an affair, a marriage, not to mention every battler EVER her personality has undergone a rather dark change. And understandably so, I think.

yeah, i mean that sort of empathic telepathy has been well established, the reason why xavier turned it off was because she experienced her best friend's death along with her. it was a fucking traumatic experience for ANYONE.

You know, when you put it like that, it's kind of a wonder she just doesn't run away and become an accountant or something.
