The Somewhat Further Adventures of Madelyne Pryor

LAST TIME, ON THE SUCKTASTIC LIFE OF MADELYNE PRYOR:

And now, brought back as psychic ghost thing by an alternate reality god-child, Madelyne futzs around a bit.

Sometimes she encounters her son.

And now, a little bit with an alternate reality Maddie from the world of Mutant X.

In the world of Mutant X, Madelyne is possessed by the the Goblin Force, a power that stands for death in the same way the Phoenix stands for life.

I love the visual of the Goblin Force. Just a giant shadow, consuming and extinguishing light.

She kicks it's ass with the help of her son. (In this universe, she married Alex and had a child with him.)

But, like most things in comics, it comes back. Luckily, she doesn't have to fight it alone.

And this knocked Alex back into the 616 and the waiting arms of Nurse Annie. Uh oh.

Well, yes, the standards of living back then were atrocious for most people. And the voyage itself was darn risky too, almost always resulting in at least some deaths. One documentary I saw likened it to a 19th century moon mission.

The Siege Perilous story, and the following Australian years for X-Men, weren't that far back, though. Even if it sometimes feels like it.
