Underwater on an alien planet, Autobots fight Ammonites near the body of the city-sized Transformer Metroplex.

Meanwhile, Optimus Prime and Rodimus are prisoners in the Dead Universe, with brainwashed fellow Autobot Nightbeat keeping watch over them.

The scene ends there, so we don't find out what Rodimus means by that this issue.

Did Rodimus just think his way out of a problem? I'm flabbergasted.

Also, why does he know so much about mind control?

Shadowplay (the name Cybertronians give brain rewriting), has come up in several of the MTMTE stories so far, and Chromedome, one of the main characters during 'season one' of the comic, was a mnemosurgeon with first hand experience in performing the act during the Autobots darker times.

The secret Rodimus hasn't told Orion yet is his involvement in the plan to use Shadowplay on Overlord, one of the Decepticons Phase Sixers, to discover just how the Decepticons made him indestructible and powerful to the point of single handedly sterilizing entire planets. Said Shadowplay backfired, Overlord broke out, and people died. Rodimus has been carrying more then a little guilt over that.

I meant in regards to how Rodimus might have learnt about it. Plus, Chromedome was using Shadowplay to put some programming in Overlords head, just in case.

As for 89/101, yeah, that was explained in this weeks issue. I don't have a scanner unfortunately, so I'll leave it to someone else to put up those two pages.

Number of casualties of Overlord's breakout? 89 dead/MIA, 101 left? (including Drift whom they exiled for his original involvement)

Would make sense for Rodimus to carve that into his hand to remind himself of the exceedingly poor decision that cost him so much of his crew.

That's what I thought at first, but that's not it. Plus, the ship hasn't lost that many people.

Overlord's breakout fortunately wasn't *that* bad! There were casualties, but only a handful of fatalities. Pipes, Rewind, Tripodeca, two others... *almost* Ultra Magnus. Plenty of injuries.

But it does have to do with that event.
