"I just wouldn't know why I'd be doing it." Did Bendis just drop a line from the first Mission: Impossible movie?

It's movie Maria Hill instead of comics Maria Hill. Good.

No, it's comics Hill and that's a good thing. Don't be such a hater.

you know, using the phrase "there's a teenage you out there" when the story you're part of actually has teenage versions of numerous adult characters is kind of confusing.

I also dislike the random Scott bashing

The random Scott-bashing isn't random, given it's part of the same run where he's been pushing his 'revolution' and been told off for it by a few people. Hill is blatantly saying Ali could be a good role model for teenage mutants.

And.. Not really. I think it's fairly clear that Hill is specifically talking about teenage mutants who need someone more relatable than the militaristic man in black and red to look up to, not the O5, for instance.

Plus we never really found out what Scott's "Mutant Revolution" really WAS. Or, if we did, I missed that issue.

Still, Scott was *somewhat* getting better. He decided his students would be better off at the Jean Grey School at a certain point.

Yeah, as much as I've liked Uncanny and All-New under Bendis, he did fumble the ball a little bit with Scott's actual revolution beyond 'increasingly Magneto-esque tactics and representation of mutants'.

Still, I don't mind this as a pep talk moment for Ali. She deserves it, given every other writer regresses her back to 'disco', contrary to the efforts of Pak and others.

And... his tactics never got too Magneto-esque.

Really, he focused on teaching his kids to fight, and made a lot more firebrand *speeches* than normal, but his actions didn't change too much.

I think it was one of the last few issues before Secret Wars where the "Mutant Revolution" was revealed to be pretty much what it seemed: a nervous breakdown by a desperate man. Or to put it in Scott's own words from Uncanny #32:

"Our last chance! Okay?! We have nothing left but threats! We fought for them and they hate us! We fought alongside them and they kill our children in the streets! We pack up and move to an island and they destroy it! We move to another one and the $#%&#$% Avengers storm the #$%& beaches! We're supposed to be the next step of human evolution yet we've become an endangered species. We're everything they are not and we're a shadow of our former selves! All we have left is threats. The threat of revolution! The threat of a fight that we hope they don't want! So, yes, I got in front of any camera that would show my face and I looked their world in the eye and told them--They better leave us alone... I stood on the bridge of the Helicarrier and I threatened them... Because nothing. Else. Has. Worked. Xavier is gone. Logan is gone. I watched Xavier die at my feet and I thought if I don't do something to kickstart it... The dream is really, truly dead."

Bendis always does way better with these smaller character moments. I'd almost want to see him do a solo Dazzler book going forward, to be honest, with the kind-of setup of her being back in SHIELD. You could easily justify wacky bullshit like the kind of stuff that happened in her old title, years back.

She's keeping the look for A-Force, i wonder if she'll be a SHIELD agent there?
