Boy do I ever miss the David Lapham AoA series from 2012. It actually used the concepts to push things forward and do interesting things, rather than wallowing in nostalgia.
Wasn't Psylocke, like, the only major X-character who wasn't so much as mentioned in the original Age of Apocalypse? Everyone else either showed up as their alternate reality selves or were revealed to be dead in the new reality but with her, nada.
They established in the original 95% of all telepaths were killed. Emma Frost has even been lobotomised to have the 'telepathic part of her brain' removed or some such and was strictly 'human'. Betsy was, unfortunately, dead until the 10th anniversary. And then this just does what it wants.
