I have never laughed so uproariously as I have at Chas Xavier floating away like a frightened Dalek as Mystique screams "CHARLES NOOO". It's played as so dramatic but it just looks so silly.

Almost as much as the big final sting being - dum dum dum - HE'S BALD NOW! WHAAA?!

Still. Looking forward to seeing Jubilee on screen.

I was referring to the color correction, tho. :D

Although, to be fair, there are orange bits as well.

They likely have argyrosis. It's pretty much benign, and results from too much silver intake, where it covers your... well, everything.

Apocalypse looks better here than in some of the promo pics I've seen, but the voice... I guess I'm used to the booming baritone John Colicos and James Blendick gave him in the 1990s X-Men cartoon, and David Kaye in X-Men: Evolution.

See I've always found the "big deep booming voice" to be really cliché. It's sort of like why I liked James Spader's Ultron voice. 1. You don't hire James Spader, who gets a lot of mileage out of his voice, and them make it unrecognizable in ADR. And 2. it's not the cliché "cold emotionless robot" voice that we've heard a billion times before.

The same applies to Apocalypse here for me.

I don't know. I really liked the last two X-Men films, but this trailer's not filling me with excitement. I'll still see it in theaters, but there's something rather ho-hum about this one.

It doesn't help that some of the character profile shots - with all the green screening - feel like they came out of Mortal Kombat: Annihilation.

Part of me has to imagine that some of the character shots might just be for trailer purposes only, to let fans know that certain characters are there. At least, I really hope so.

I'm still not sold on the character visual for Apocalypse; I don't think he's ever worked well in terms of having that design for a character of his status - it just looks goofy as hell, somehow, and that has transferred over a bit here; the Horsemen are a bit more impressive, though, and using more known characters than just Angel gives it a bit more impact.

Honestly I've never much cared for Singer's now somewhat dated approach to the series, so I'm pretty leery of this. Days of Future Past was amusing at times for how big it got to go, but it also felt overstuffed, indulgent and suffered from the problems (hideous costume design, an ongoing Wolverine fetish, and the marginalization of any character who isn't a white dude) which have plagued Singer's X-movies from the start. It's impossible for me to get excited about the series when I know that the things I dislike about it aren't going anywhere.

In retrospect, First Class has its problems (particularly with race) but I maintain that it's the only X-Men movie which had any real sense of style or fun to it. I just wish the series hadn't so quickly abandoned its new direction in favor of going back to more or less the same direction it had 15 full years ago.

Except that Wolverine WASN'T the focus in DOFP. He was a glorified plot-device.

I strongly disagree with you on that point. Wolverine isn't just a glorified plot device, he's the primary narrative force within the film. It's his presence which sets the plot in motion, and simply in terms of how the film is presented, both the beginning and ending put the focus squarely on Wolverine's story. Of course he's not the single main character, it's an ensemble piece, but as with all of Singer's X-movies, its Wolverine's POV above all else, which gets the focus.

I liked this. It certainly gets me more intrigued than the Civil War trailer did (sorry, I just cannot get excited about that movie). Not quite as much as the Batman v. Superman trailer though:

-I quite like Apocalypse's design (I'm sorry, but he's ALWAYS looked goofy).
-I like that they let Oscar Isaac use a more distinct voice, as opposed to the wannabe Darth Vader one that Apocalypse is usually depicted as having.
-Some really cool shots here (Storm appearing from out of a lightning bolt, Xavier's eyes going black, destruction on a grand scale).
-I'm not worried about the CGI, it's a first trailer. History shows that that usually gets cleaned up before the movie comes out.
-I like the choice of Horsemen, talk about an OP team.

All in all, for a first trailer, looks good.

Apocalypse looks considerably better here than he has in the promo pics. I wonder if they did something.

Not really feeling Magneto's new look though. The one in DofP was fine.
