While I understand that a retcon of origin is of great importance for fans, I think some of you are overdoing the Kreisberg-bashing.
Let's look at the issue:
-Black Canary single-handedly beats the menace-de-jour without the slightest problem -BC's story is the first one -BC gets to tell Ollie off in his own part of the book -BC gets a grappling hook (and Kreisberg makes it so that she doesn't seem just like a lame Batman knock-off) -BC survives the obligatory big explosion AND saves the villain at the same time
I think you can't just bite down on a writer just because he doesn't write your character the same way he or she was written when you started to like them.
'Sides: Ollie's cool in this, and I totally dig Cupid. Can't wait for the Cupid/Black Canary double feature.
