Aw, you didn't post my favorite page, when that ridiculous shot of them ends up on the paper and Von Richtofen's girlfriend cusses her out for posing like that.

That is perfect. So perfect.

Why...add really artificial dialogue into the last issue to establish she's a lesbian if you're just going to sexualise her?

That big splash page just puts me in mind of Kate Beaton's "Sexism is OVER!" picture.

Wait...why would establishing a character as a lesbian prevent her sexualization?

What media are you consuming? The exact opposite seems far more common.

S'pose it's human error, then...I'm heterosexual, but I've never really found the idea of lesbians to be all that erotic, personally. It's just not something in which I'm interested.

They didn't establish she's a lesbian in the previous issue. They did that already back in Welcome Back Frank.

On top of that, she's had a subplot in most of the issues that preceded this one, about her supermodel girlfriend who's also seeing a man, and von Richthofen's jealousy and anger over it.

This is a decent example of how judging a work from a limited sample size can influence people's reactions to the work as a whole.

I love that final page and castle being all like "yeah no, we are NOT doing that. this storyline ends here"

Actually makes me wish that was the ending to "Kick-Ass", really, since the villains are so similar.

Ah. There it is.

So Frank killed a bunch of women...

...who weren't Ma Gnucci. They just had the misfortune of being made over to look like her? And he's okay with that?

Good point. Sounds like they were victims themselves.

There's a panel not shown here where the bald guy Frank killed is shown having "liquidated" the stock of Ma Gnucci stand-ins. They're all dead and Frank had nothing to do with it.

Too bad. Seems like Frank could do with some recurring villain, and I liked this one.

How did Frank track him down, anyway? I know he has his ways, but...

He looked up Elite online, found out that Elite had had a wife, daughter, and son, and checked to see what if any properties Elite's son had bought recently. One of them was his secret evil villain lair.

That was, after all, the point: that he'd been so insulated by his father's wealth that he had surprisingly little experience in actually working within the world. He was great at paying other people, but whenever it required him to take a personal hand, he invariably screwed it up.

I've always wanted to write a Punisher story with a similar climax to this one - i.e., Frank tracks down the 'mastermind' villain who's been irritating him, having murdered his way through said villain's henchmen - only for the villain to smirk "F**k you" and bite down on a poison capsule first.

Wasn't there a scan posted where he was giving orders to his underlings while on the subway? In full costume in public? And only realized this might be a problem after he put the phone down and looked around at the people staring at him?

Yeah, I'm gonna go with "idiot". If he'd officially titled his home "Elite Mansion" I wouldn't have been surprised.
