Awww.... (

Keiron Gillen has announced that #25 will be the end of the Darth Vader title from Marvel

Interview up at ign on the subject

It seems to be entirely the creators choice, which is cool, (and there's nothing to say that another title can't be launched with different creators)

I hope that whoever next gets their creative hands on Dr Aphra and especially BeeTee and Triple-0 treats them with as much respect!

Kind of wish i had got this, it looked good. Maybe there'll be a comixology sale.

Well, that's fair enough. There was always only going to be so long the book could fill the gap between Hope and Empire. I entirely expect some sort of reimagined Shadows of the Empire down the line, filling the gap between Empire and Jedi.

I think it is probably a good idea, especially since it is the creator's choice. It does keep the character from being overexposed or overused. Big name characters like Vader are probably best explored only sparingly or they lose their appeal. Then when-if someone comes up with another good story they can do another limited series for that.

I get the feeling the only new character who is gonna survive this ongoing was that Princess who became a Queen. Aphra and the droids I think are gonna bite it. Which is a shame, but I just got this feeling Gillen will kill his toys.

The latest issue makes me think this is why he'll do it. ;_;

Kieron Gillen runs in corporate comics for the most part had a set beginning, middle and end, with the exception of Iron-man. Guess Vader is no exception. It's how I prefer stories anyhow.

Makes sense, and yea, Vader having a sprawling 100+ run would seem fairly odd.

I guess a series wherein the main character always kills everyone, friend or foe, can only last so long.

As someone who has absolutely adored this comic from it's first issue, this hurts me. D:
