This remains one of my favorite X-Men runs, down to Emma's perfect bitchiness and Quitely actually drawing Wolverine like a stocky little runt.

I like and hate his art.

It's really good for a lot of things, but the faces don't always work for beautiful people.

How does Emma's costume stay on?!

Probably some form of spirit gum or adhesive.

There are actual ways, like clear back straps people have used to cosplay her. Or it could be double-sided tape that models wear.

I actually never seen that version of the costume. I thought it was a vest without buttons on the front, but that thing is just cloth without a back.

Telekinesis.

They covered this in Old Man Logan

Emma makes people see her as a hot young sexy thing....no matter her real age or what she's really wearing. She's probably just wearing normal clothes that don't need gaffers tape to stay up.

Meta-will, stemming from a more than a million years of evolution. Sex. Babies. Thriving survival. Art.

That's rather tame (in my opinion) to the cover of New Mutants (volume 1) #39.

Not a real big fan of Quitely's art to be honest... everyone seems to be slowly melting...

I don't know... that version had a much skimpier bottom, but no camel toe and her bosom wasn't threatening to spill out of her top quite so aggressively. It's a coin flip whether actually being depicted tastefully nude could be racier than this version.

I didn't like it at the time it came out, either.

Quitely would have to publicly apologize, and Marvel would make Emma put on a jacket.

So when did this come out? I thought Emma Frost always had the diamond skin ability, and I thought Xavier was known as a mutant for quite some time.

Edit: Oh wait, there it is on the cover: 2001. Yeah, I think when I began reading, it was sometime after that.

This came out around early naughts, and is the storyline where Emma's diamond skin was introduced, and when Xavier is outed as a mutant to the world.

For all the damage she caused, I absolutely could not get past Cassandra Nova's ridiculous-by-comic-logic origin story long enough to take her seriously.

This. The only Cassandra Nova story I've enjoyed was the one in Astonishing X-Men, and she turned out to be a hallucination in Emma's mind for most of that. (Which was awesome, by the way, demonstrating how a second tier telepath could take out an entire team of superheroes by herself as long as they didn't realize what was really going on.)

This was the issue that gave is Negasonic Teenage Warhead, the best mutant name that ever existed.
