Alchemy changes the mists, but dies in the process.

Black Bolt kills Cyclops.

Magik frees Downer, the Inhuman she put in Limbo, who tells her that he wants nothing to do with either the Inhumans or the mutants anymore and has her take him home.

After Scott's funeral, Havok confronts Emma, saying he doesn't believe Scott would go out like that.  Emma takes him to see his real body.

Emma, looking crazed, says Scott is still alive, because she made him an idea and ideas never die.

There's no explanation for what Scott (or Emma) did that made people revile him as the mutant Hitler. The only people who died were him, Madrox, and Alchemy.

*Sigh*

so...does this justify even remotely any of the hatred Cyclops has been given over the past year in universe? :|

Well, it all started when Cyclops wasn't Wolverine.

I am only partially joking. The problem fans and creators had with Cyclops ever since 1980-whatever was that he wasn't Wolverine.

Yea, like... ok, what exactly did he do?

Did I miss something where he did something other than nullify one Terrigan cloud?

He was pretty confrontational to it, but it seems to me the Inhumans are pretty solidly in the wrong here.

There's been *multiple* storylines where we're supposed to think Cyclops is on the wrong side only for me to go, "... Cyclops is either right, or at least the least-wrong of the players here."

How many more parts does this series have?

If the Inhumans reaction is because Scott had the mutant killing cloud transmuted (poor, poor Tom "Alchemy" Jones, he deserved better) then their reaction is bizarre and completely unsympathetic, even by the Inhumans already pretty high standards.

I really don't get why Medusa is so shocked and surprised. The Terrigen cloud was causing mutants to die in all sorts of horrible ways and the only thing she ever said when anyone tried to appeal to her is "that's sad, but the Terrigen is sacred to us so I'm not actually going to do anything".

So it turns out that's a bad idea to say to people who have been known to get quite clever and creative when faced with extinction.

What I'm trying to say here, is basically YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN THIS COMING, YOUR "HIGHNESS". If you didn't want this to happen, maybe you should have helped the X-men look for and find a solution that'd allow them to survive without neutralizing the clouds.

It's weird because last issue didn't we see the Inhumans trying to control/limit the cloud in a quite admirable manner, attempting to clean up their mess?

The other pages of the issue must be quite something if they can explain how the story could go from went from "Cyclops arranges clean up the Inhumans' mess, which was murdering mutants willy-nilly, and at the cost of an innocent mutants life" to "Cyclops, you deserve to die for what you did!"

Who is the person in a suit next to Emma and Scott's body?
He looks like Two-face in a non-two face costume. I would presume he was Cable if parts of face shown looked like Cable's

Also: i find it really strange there wasn't a war declared on Inhumans. There was a self-proclaimed mutant state - wasn't it? Gather back together, make war on atillah, depose royal family, disband their army, destroy their death-spreading clouds, kill or disable those who would oppose that, you know, sane and measured response people usually do

I will be honest, I am shocked how touching those scenes with Emma and Scott were and how deeply Emma loves Scott. Even those final actions were to elevate him, to truly make him a myth worthy of the man.

On the other hand, really? This is the horrific thing Scott did that made him in to a such reviled being?

Over on the CBR forums, the theory everyone has is that either Lemire, Soule, or the editorial wanted to make Cyclops super bad, but they chickened out at the last moment and decided against it. That theory might explain something...

Maybe they have Swain convincing everyone that destroying one of the Terrigen Clouds was evil

Yes, it was Emma. That one twist turned this book from one with a cast that carries stupid ball everywhere they go to a book that is amazing. It suddenly explains everything. Why they didn't talk or work with the Inhumans. Because Cyclops is dead and Emma is a lover scorned.

So, Scott was a telepathic projection instead of meat puppet. Fine, whatever.

Here's what I don't get: the X-men arrive at an island where lots of people have died. There's a spooky cloud covering the entire island. And it never occurs to them that the cloud might be hazardous? They just walk right in, entirely unprotected. Hazmat suits exist for a reason!

So all this in the end wasn't Cyclops at all, just a projection from Emma? So in the end, all the decisions that lead to the destruction of the Cloud and the deaths are her call, aren't they?
And one last thing, tell me again why Medusa should rule the Inhumans? So far she looks like she's been doing a not so good job.

So Black Bolt just committed murder then (or tried to), apparently at Medusa's behest. It wasn't necessary to stop Cyclops from transmuting any of the other clouds, even if the X-Men could. Black Bolt, incidentally, is also the guy who created the clouds and forced the Inhumans to rely on them for Terragenesis when he loaded all the Inhuman's terrigen crystals into a giant bomb which he then blew up.

I think it's become clear there are no shades of gray here. One group's right to superpowers is clearly overridden by the other group's right to life. One side is objectively in the wrong, and any attempts to make this seem nuanced are not going to succeed.

Wha... That's it?! All this hype around Cyclops apparently becoming some kind of figurative monster and what he did was actually pretty reasonable in the face of Medusa and Black Bolt being jackasses about the mists killing mutants?

Marvel, stop trying to make the Inhumans "a thing". It's not happening. Oh, and just drop the heroes vs heroes nonsense, we're all sick of it by now.

So, if mutants are supposed to be an allegory for race/gender discrimination and such, would that make the Inhumans an allegory for religion, what with the clouds being so "sacred" to them and all?

And I've said it before and I'll say it again: The Inhumans are the Roman Reigns of the Marvel Universe, in that the core group would make fantastic villains, were it not for Marvel somehow thinking that they come off as the good guys in all of this.

I fail to see that the X-Men did anything wrong here. They stopped a threat to mutantkind's survival in a way that harmed no one. Yes, Terrigen is sacred to the Inhumans, but being Inhuman is as much cultural as anything else. And the Clouds are hardly even the only source of it.
