That was pretty awful all around, but that last page.
Sweet Glob, that last page.

For a moment, I was legitimately confused why the Joker had facial hair.

Well, that ended well didn't it?

I think this might have had more impact if I had ever foud a reason to care about Shard.

I vaguely remember her as a sort of sentient hologram with generic zappy-energy blast thingies, but I don't recall ever finding her particularly interesting, so making her the protagonist doesn't do much to exactly thrill me.

So the humans were anti-mutant enough to view the killing of evil mutants as a reason to kill all mutants, but they still built her a statue? Like, are they big into irony, or do they view her as the one and only good mutant...?

The 90s, wrapped in a "'Thou Shalt Not Kill' Slippery Slope" bow. Wow.

What I want to know is how people come up with these random -ass What If concepts. Like, who the fuck is Shard and why is Bishop dying instead of her even remotely interesting?

Like, why not have a What If about Captain America going to Swiss Chalet instead of Applebee's. That's how nothing this concept is to me.

I dunno, he showed up in the 90's cartoon, where he got more play than Cable. So I'd argue he had more exposure.

Didn't Bishop power up from the kinetic energy of snow falling once? How's a gun gonna kill him? Couldn't Jean or Professor X have telepathically stopped Shard from leaving after she killed Magneto and Storm? Couldn't any of the X-Men have stopped her from killing Storm in the first place? Why do all these apocalyptic futures just have piles of gross dead bodies lying around anyway, don't they have hygiene in the future? Okay, I'm done ;p

he powered up from the energy release of melting snow, which is wrong but that's what he did, he wasn't able to absorb the energy of flying bullets
