The greatest trick Mephisto ever pulled was convincing the world Spider-Man's marriage didn't exist.

I mean... what?

So we have six people, each being blackmailed by a mysterious sponsor (Secret Six) to undertake a suicidal mission (Suicide Squad) to retrieve secret information (Mission: Impossible) on behalf of a crime lord who's both larger than life and an urban legend (The Usual Suspects.)

This was such a great story the first few times around. :)

You know, I'd buy the "older than the rest of you" bit better if one of that group wasn't around during the Revolutionary War era. I mean, yeah, Vulture might be better connected but it wouldn't be because he's older than everyone there.

As the Black Widow once described someone who'd been in the spy game for a long time, to Hawkeye and Mockingbird: " She's older than all of us.. well, maybe not Logan. "

I'm just boggled that Vulture apparently had time in those past sixteen years to well, have all of his backstory, including the engineering degree, company, falling-out, supervillain origin, and hit retirement age. He'd have been better off not specifying how long ago it happened. :)

It's possible he doesn't know how old Victor is. Depends on when 'tooth started doing the merc thing. He probably didn't drop onto the public radar till he started teaming up with the Constrictor.

Yeah, I can't imagine the whole "Been alive for centuries" thing is common knowledge. I mean I doubt its something Sabertooth advertises.

Yeah. International law enforcement like SHIELD presumably knows, but common villain on the street, not so much.

I'm thinking Juggernaut might have him beat too. He was in Korea, so that'd make him in his late eighties. Not counting the century he spent drifting off-universe.

Anyway, her HR people needs to up their game. Three of those people have been X-men, and two Avengers.

Yeah, I'm not sure how subject Xavier and Cain are to the sliding timescale.

I feel like this kind of story would work better with DC heroes - most Marvel big-time heroes don't really have secret IDs...I mean looking at who they've used for their fantasy dead hero pile Patsy Walker & Sam Wilson are famous, X-Men don't really have lives or loved ones outside of being X-Men, Hawkeye & Black Knight don't really lead lives outside of being superheroes...The only ones who'd really be put out would be Spidey & Moon Knight and outside of Vulture, who else outta those bad guys would really care? Were Cap, Iron Man & Thor still having secret IDs at this point?

Oops I forgot Sandman's there - so that's two outta six who might like to know who Spider-Man is, I can't see the others caring about him & Moon Knight though

Still, home addresses, medical history, credit report... there's actionable data in there.

Though one does wonder how it's all obtained.

I guess obtaining it wouldn't be so hard - Mentallo and/or Machinesmith could probably find out a lot about anyone if they really put their minds to it...I'm just surprised there'd be a huge demand for it. I guess supervillains aren't generally known for their ability to think outside the box though lol

Does anyone even -care- about the Black Knight? Like, does he even have any real enemies besides like, Morgan le Fay and Modred? o.0

... This is who they're going to send to kill all the superheroes? I mean, no offense, but, Cain Marko aside, this group reads like a pretty tough gauntlet for Spider-man to solo one his way to facing a Goblin or something.

Juggernaut would present a problem since Spiderman doesn't really have access to anything that can consistently put Juggernaut down, I guess. But that just leaves, you know, every other hero in the world.

Okay, Flint's moment of concern for Adrian is actually rather nice. It reminds me of the flashback in Superior Spider-Man, to Ock and Adrian being friendly.

Its weird because I remember Vulture as hating kids. Then they gave him a kid with cancer from a girlfriend. Now he has a daughter too?

I always did like the relationship between Bullseye and Deadpool. Especially in Joe Kelly's run were it was established that Wade was a mentor to Lester back before he was Deadpool.
