Not entirely, when written well Jonah's always got a core of decency buried in there.

I meant based on the cover. Jonah's inherent decency is one of his defining characteristics in the hands of decent writers. It's just his Spider-man blind spot. I like this blend of existing continuity along with a new twist. I just wasn't expecting things to end so happily. It's delightful.

This was a pretty fun one, as I recall.

Jonah's a hard character to get right. You have to walk just the right line of moral but cantankerous journalist with a Spider-Man hating blinding spot.

THis is nice and all, but I have to point out, did Jonah order that him adopting Peter was front page?

Here's something I said back in 2014:

Jonah saying Spider-Man is a fraud is one of those things that don't make sense but we have to accept it because he's been saying it for 50 years.

"Spider-Man is a fraud!"
"In what way?"
"...Shut up!"

I think JJJ means a fraud in the sense that Spidey's not a "real" hero and fakes all/most of the crimes he fights - this obviously works better when JJJ looks up to certain other superheroes, like Captain America.

It does provide a different angle on why he hates Spider-Man. Not a justification as such, of course, since I think even he'd recognize that Spidey and the Klan are nowhere near comparable. Interesting, though.

Yep. It makes him...Not reasonable, but at least more understandable.

Yup, liked that idea too. "If you're ashamed to show your face when you're doing something, you must feel you have something to hide"
