The fashionista stuff, zzz. But I like the visualization of the animal powers.

I still can't figure out why the celebrity funding an afterschool program is supposed to be responsible for dealing with kidnappings, even if the victim's daughter is part of the program. Surely this is the ken of the cops, or established heroes.

I mean, good on Mari on stepping up and rescuing her, and the other victims, but it's a weird reason to place it on her shoulders.

I'm sure everyone agrees it's unfair, but it does make her want to step up and do something about it.

If the narrative had presented the girl as being unreasonable, but Mari jumping on it anyway, because that's who she is, I'd find it less weird, but the story seems to want us to believe that her criticism is reasonable.

(If I were writing from the same basic premise, I'd have had the girl go to Mari because the cops weren't doing anything, and she didn't know who else to turn to - maybe even only wanting her to put out the information so that heroes would know it was happening, or to shame the cops into acting. But this is...just...odd.)

You're right, it makes absolutely no sense. Is the girl a tool for someone? Is Mari meant to be an Obama type, being blamed for things that aren't her fault? Does Mari just solve problems for people, a celebrity savior? Some of them do see themselves that way.

This whole process of reintroducing and recharacterizing characters is tricky. Mari's personality feels a little strange to me. Was she an orphan before?

Oh, well, nice to see someone trying to do a series with her. I wanted to do a series about her back when I lied to myself and said I could write comics. I like the concept, both the fashion model side and the morphogenetic field stuff. I'm afraid "Vixen" is not a great name, though.

I adored the name 'Vixey' when it was used in The Fox And The Hound film as a child. You have to embrace the concept of a female fox though, who is both perky and sneaky. Like Catwoman. I think it fails when used as a sexy name. Mari McCabe is thought of a 'strong woman with sex appeal'. Were she written as an affectionate trickster given to inappropriate touching, it might work better.

Interesting that she's going for the public hero persona... but I guess in this day and age it's a lot harder to reconcile A-list fashion model with superhero secret identity.
