It's so weird seeing classic Nick Fury now, given how indelibly Samuel L. Jackson has influenced depictions of the character.
Still, this looks like an interesting read. To be fair, I've never been much on the MAX line, save for the Punisher series which actually approached him as he should be (A villain), but I can get how some readers may like a more grounded approach to the characters.

'Indelibly'? Hardly. Ultimate Fury was a passing phase. MCU Fury will last until a younger actor replaces him.

As for Fury being a villain, it has always amused me that Daredevil thinks of him as the Kingpin of the government.

Okay, Fury not really getting that much older, I get. But why is his former love interest and senators wife forced to age while her husband hasn't changed AT ALL? I mean, unless he's had the super soldier formula too, he shouldn't look the same way that he did in the Bay of Pigs era as he does during the Iran-Contra era.

He's aged. He's got a lot less hair and he's put on weight. Look at how he's drawn in issue #6.
