Though if they really were dealing with all of Reed's mistakes catching up to him, we'd all be here for another ten issues or more.

In hindsight, bringing Peter in... didn't really accomplish much, huh.
Like, what did he actually accomplish, plot-wise, that couldn't have been done by someone else? (Aside from smart-aleck remarks, of course.)

Well Spidey was a comfort to Franklin at the very least. Helping one of the most important people in the mutiverse through a rough patch is nothing to sneeze at.

If you want to ensure your uber powerful kid doesn't pull a Wanda you get Spiderman to mentor them.

Ummm.... not sure that that's ALWAYS the case, cf Alpha?

He depowered Alpha when he realized that the kid was incapable of wielding the power responsibly. Which makes Spidey way smarter than most of the MU.
