I really liked this mini and the concept. I always liked Blue Marvel and i love how Al Ewing has added a lot of new stuff to the character.

Especially expanding on Adam's super scientist side, so he's more than just a Superman expy.

This crap is painful to read.

I don't mean the story is crap, I mean what they did to that man....its really one of the more screwed up things in comics.

How is firing the Blue Marvel the solution here? I don't mean ethically, but practically. You're worried he might turn against you... so you give him a reason to?!

It makes a certain amount of totally fucked-up sense. The men in power draw an unambiguous line in the sand. Where Brashear puts himself in terms of that line lets them slot the "problem" as solved or escalating. If he stays on the solved side, they just have to keep an eye on the line.

If he's on the escalating side, then the solutions get more complicated, but I absolutely believe that they were at least working on contingencies to either distract or undermine him.
