A Claremont story where good guys are mind-controlled or brainwashed into being evil? Say it ain't so.

I know, right? Who would've expected this from him!

It's pretty shocking of Claremont to do something so utterly different from his usual ideas.

The lack of outright bondage gear almost threw me for a loop, but the Hydra-themed outfits are pretty snazzy.

Yep. There is a whole market based on it.

Even if I didn't know already this was a Claremont comic, "You're good. I'm better" would've told me this was a Claremont comic.

I'm kinda confused why this dimension is so doomed anyway and they're just doing damage control.

Heck, while this team is having trouble, as EXile teams go it's pretty low level. The team at it's prime could beat these villains.

Presumably because this Reed is rigging up a dimension hopper of some sort and if they don't kill him, the bad guys get to escape to cause mayhem in another dimension.

Just a guess mind you.

Oh, and Sue Storm is legitimately one of the more powerful beings on Earth, her misadventures as Malice demonstrate how dangerous she can be.

Sure, but... they could also just *beat the baddies* so that the baddies trying to escape is a non-issue whatever Reed does.

Sue's strong (and I'm not exactly sure how she's mind controlling people here), but well within the league of most teams of EXiles (though granted the team was a bit on the light end by this point. I mean, it looks like Sabertooth/Psylocke/Morph/Blink was the entire deployed team from the scans!).

There'd be the possibility that it's the device Reed creates which causes the problem in the first place. If he creates it at all, chaos will reign across the multiverse, sort of a thing.

That's still not so much a 'kill Reed' thing as 'prevent him from making the one device' thing.

And beating the villains would be good motivation for him to listen to the EXiles say, "No! Bad Richards. Bad."

Heck, it leaves the question of why they're messing with the villains.
