Okay, that stuff I said before about Hawksmore talking to cities looking cool?

I take it all back now. That scene had such a nukes-are-bad-mkay vibe to it, so ham-fisted.

The idea isn't bad, per se, but the execution here is ham-fisted. Hiroshima and Nagasaki are modern cities and no worse off than other cities that were demolished in World War II, like Dresden or even London. Yes, they received all their damage in one fell swoop, doing terrible damage and harming or killing tens of thousands...but they are not radioactive and have totally rebuilt. The visual metaphor of them being burned permanently is clumsy and inaccurate, especially with the false equivalency with Pripyat. Fukushima would have been a much more accurate representation, but also a little too fresh to seem anything other than massively insensitive at this point.

Honestly maybe don't do that story aspect at all, guys.
