Priest: "I was actually surprised and challenged when Marvel offered me the project. I see this series as part of a bigger and more complex overall history. As I see it, we can either bore people to death by trying to be too much, or we can go the “Rogue One” route and tell a fun story which embellishes key points of their origin."

Christopher Priest is returning to Marvel in order to cover The Inhuman family.
Recently, Marvel has tried to push the family with several titles. But it has been so and so. So I'm glad to see Priest getting a shot at the Royal family and I hope we finally get to see Black Bolt like he was back-in-the-good-old-days of Stan Lee, Jack Kirby and Roy Thomas.
(BTW, huge error in the interview. Priest last work for Marvel was a back-up story in Deadpool no.27)

Ohh, SHIT.

Anyway, I'm going to offer the same sentiments I did when Charles Soule ended his run on Swamp Thing: thank you and well wishes to the writer, strap in for the readers. Guy's a hell of a talent.

Oh I know he was favorite on Black Panther, I was very impressed by his recent Deatroke run.

Recent? Don't you mean current? It's still ongoing, and it's good stuff.

I assumed with the announcement he was leaving DC.

He's starting a new arc in July so that seems rather unlikely.

I guess me and tigerkaya had the same assumption. What's the news on that? Is Priest doing this on a free-agent capacity, or is Marvel signing him to an exclusive contract?

Huh. I guess writers working for both companies really is rare these days. Was a time it was practically commonplace.

But there are still some who do, like Marguerite Bennett. And there's been no word about signing him to an exclusive contract, so I saw no reason to assume he'd depart DEATHSTROKE.

Surprisingly it's a common thing Chris Yost was still working for Marvel while writing his Red Robin run.

Like I said, it used to practically be the norm.

He's not exclusive and he's still on Deathstroke. Besides, his Inhumans book is a mini series.

Ah, so it is! I'll let Priest keep the thanks, in any case - he's done DC enough right to have earned it, anyway.
