"They only slapped my wrist a couple of times. Once was when I originally had the animals and humans having conversations with each other. They said no, as part of the continuity of the Hanna-Barbera universe, the animals can talk to the animals, the humans can talk to humans, but they never communicate across the species border. [...] And then the other thing they wouldn't let me do is, I had a cocaine addicted rat." -- Mark Russell

So Hanna-Barbera didn't ever have a problem with the existentialist and anti-capitalist over/undertones?

Heh, the people who made Yogi's Gang are cooler than I thought.

Hanna-Barbera doesn't exist as an actual entity, any more. It's a brand owned by Warner Brothers. Not even a separate division, like DC, or WB Animation, or whatever.

Is the Flintstones' vacuum cleaner the same one that was used on the movie theater floor? Odd timing/thing to show otherwise.

Not really. The friendship between the bowling ball and the vacuum cleaner is a running thread through the series.

(Also, the fact that I can type that sentence and have it make sense is BRILLIANT.)

I hope DC's Jetsons comic isn't like this. Of course, the Jetsons never got philosophical.

DID the flitnstones ever become philosophical before this point?

Isn't the Jetsons about a guy who works a job her hates so his family can afford the latest in future gadgets?

That isn't even taking into account the popular theory that the cities are elevated because we've destroyed the Earth's surface.
