Well, y'know, the kids atlas trying. Unlike you Mr. Get Drunk Every Night Because You Miss Running Around the World Killing Non-White People For the Government Man.

And you know this artist cut his teeth primarily on supe comics because Wendel is for all appearances ripped as shit. You could just... not draw the six pack and the veins popping out of his arms, right?

Working so hard in a weightlifting competition that you give yourself a hernia seems pretty dang manly to me. Is Fury just mad because the kid picked a sport that doesn't involve hurting other people?

It seems like the text wants to make me sympathize with Fury to some extent, but that opportunity totally disappeared when he seriously contemplated murdering a kid for not being a champion weightlifter.

Without reading it, I don't know for sure, but I feel like it could be a question of intelligence as much as strength. That kid was clearly pushing way past his limits.

Not saying that makes it any better, mind.

I'm not sure if the MAX Fury used to lead the Howling Commandos and all, but surely he's worked with a lot of young soldiers/agents who pushed way past their limits. No doubt that was frustrating--except when it was heroic and necessary--but I really hope it didn't make him want to plot their deaths.

Yeah supposedly this series was the reason George Clooney dropped out of playing Nick Fury before they got Sam Jackson to sign on. Not hard to see why.

Sometimes he is. Sometimes he manages to put out stuff that's genuinely thought-provoking, thoughtful and heartwarming. There's some really good moments in Preacher, Wormwood and Hitman. But it never lasts, and eventually he always reverts to a senile God masturbating into a feces-stained toga, the Pope being sodomized by a nun with a strap-on, "arseface", all of Crossed and, well, this...
