NS: Gotham City Garage Coming Soon

Time to cash in on another collectible line!

IGN has the story for us!

Gotham City Garage will be written by Jackson Lanzig and Collin Kelly (Grayson) and will feature a rotating team of artists that includes Brian Ching (Supergirl) and newcomer Lynne Yoshii.

The series will unfold in an alternate DC Universe where much of the world has fallen to chaos and Lex Luthor has converted Gotham City into an idyllic paradise called "The Garden." The cost of that paradise is that Gotham's citizens live under an oppressive totalitarian regime enforced by "The Bat" and his minions. The series will center around the story of Kara Gordon, the first Kryptonian to arrive on Earth and a newcomer to the harsh, brutal world outside Gotham's walls.

"Gotham City Garage is an anti-fascist anthem for the open road, starring reimagined takes on DC's great female characters through an outlaw lens,” said Kelly in DC's press release. “We’re bringing Big Barda, Steel, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Silver Banshee, Hawkgirl and the first Kryptonian this world has ever seen — the mysterious girl named Kara Gordon — into a world of bikes, outlaws and elaborate tattoos.”

“This is an exciting chance to explore the meaning of heroism in a world devoid of hope, to rebel-yell alongside our favorite DC superheroines at a time when we need it the most,” said Lanzing.

The first digital chapter of Gotham City Garage will debut on Wednesday, August 16 on the DC Comics app, Comixology and other digital platforms. New digital chapters will be published twice-monthly through October and then weekly after that. The series will also make its print debut in October.

Exposed torso and no gloves? There might be some serious road rash in her future. At least she's wearing a helmet!

Well she's invulnerable, but… ye gods that exposed belly looks awful. I like the use of red and the Akira bike, but … how can anyone be given the task of drawing biker Wonder Woman—Wonder Woman, the reference for BDSM in comics—and not go all leather and chains?

At least Ghost Rider is apparently back in leather now; I hope the new series is good. (Ghost Rider is an example of a character where I love the concept, I love the visuals, but never really got into the stories.)
