I have to say, I did not see this coming.

So......... Yeah... Lor-Zod is Back (New version of him, not Chris, it seems). In hindsight, it makes sense. It's a way to expand Superman mythos in a way to include Jon.
Also, calling it now, Zod will not try and attack Jon because he will want Lor to kill him instead.

The Eradicator is confronting the possibility of a world in which eradicating is not as immediately needed.

It's sobering.

Oh isn't that fucking great, they merge pre-Flastpoint and nu52 Superman and Lois, making them forget Chris. Now they bring him back as Lor-Zod so that he can be a villain for Jon.

What does DC have against adoption?

adoption is reserved for the Batclan

though to be fair, Clark and Kara are adopted too.

Except even in the Batclan the adopted kids aren't given the same importance as Damian, all important biological son who is the one true heir.

Damian dies? Bruce goes crazy, tries to force Jason to relive his death, goes to Apocalypse in the Hellbat armor to steal power from Darkseid so he can bring Damian back from the dead.
Tim "dies"? Bruce is just a bit more dickish in a few books.

Bruce meets Flashpoint Thomas Wayne? He takes the opportunity to say "you have A grandson". Singular. And Thomas tells Bruce to stop being Batman and be a father to his son.

There are so many instances in comics that focus more on Damian's impact and completely glosses over Bruce's other kids.

He hasn't bothered adopting Cass again yet either.

Yeah, but Cass is a girl. She'd, like, make him look uncool and stuff!

(And where does that Batman Beyond retcon fall?)

It falls in the slightly less shitty than the original idea pile of retcons. (I mean it was IMO a really shitty retcon but the original idea of Selina being behind Terry being Bruce's son and him having several brothers was worse)

It also came about just when DC was really getting into the whole biological blood matters the most with folks with evil parents having to struggle against the evil in their dna.

... But that title is already taken!

Okay... Though him hanging trying to get Catman to relinquish the title could be fun, too.

He could become Catbird, like Selina Kyle did in Gothtopia.

Damian doesn't have an established relationship with Selina. Most times, they do interact, I think Damian see's his mother as Bruce's true love. Though that may be Injustice clouding my mind.

I think this was simplification more than anything. Superman's continuity is a mess... just having Jon, as young as he is, stretches the timeline of DC farther than we would want to think about. Having Chris be around pre-Jon would just stretch the timeline in even weirder ways.

My guess was Zod before I click on the link.

And it was.

Interesting how it took 20 years before they just ended up using Superman 2's version of Zod, and now they won't stop using them.

So, both Faora and Ursa exist in current DCU? And both are involved with Zod? Or are there several Zods?

So, basically, Classic Zod, Zod from Superman II, and Zod from Superman II Again but With A Different Shirt?

Mace headed Zod was the Zod from For Tomorrow. Looked kind of cool. I lost interest in that series very fast though.

Seeing how the Superman and Wonder Woman relationship was wiped from canon, I'm guessing that Superman/Wonder Woman never happened. Therefore, that probably stands to reason that Zod never 'truly' appeared until Suicide Squad.

Why DOES Eradicator wear those nifty sunglasses? Is there a practical reason, or is it just that he has a thing for outdated 1990s fashion? Because I kind of like that idea better. He's a killer robot, who also enjoys binge watching Dawson's Creek, the stories write themselves!

Originally in return of the supermen storyline he wore them cause the copy of Clark's body he made had sensitive vision that meant bright lights actually hurt him. Since then it has just stuck around.

No Non or Quex-Ul this time?

Lor-Zod's origin was a bit confusing, Someone accidentally sent a house into the Phantom Zone in which the prisoners become solid? Who accidentally sent the house?

Turns out it was an actual part of a Kryptonian prison, not a house.

Although an actual house getting transported to the Phantom Zone...

As annoyed as I was that the Nu 52 ditched nearly everything I liked about DC, Rebirth just leaves me extremely confused about what still counts.
