After all the hype and worries, MARVEL vs. Capcom is back with MARVEL vs. Capcom: Infinite! Has anyone here had a chance to play the game yet? If so, what do you think of said game so far?

I wonder if Perlmutter was holding a gun to his head when he said that.

Its dumb. Characters are so boring compared to 2 and 3. The story is just horrible. Plus they continue with that bullshit trend of on disk dlc. Black Widow is one of the dlc characters.
Only 6 females? Bullshit.
Also the fact that they had to redo the graphics makes this a rushed job.

No X-Men. No Fantastic Four characters. Barely any female representation, with Black Widow (who is far more popular than Gamora) being DLC. No real neat characters from the Capcom side of things. This is just embarrassing.

While I do think the game is just decent, I just can't shake off the feeling that the devs were trying way too hard to try and redefine the series to a new generation of players. The 2v2 system, I'm okay with. (After all, where I cut my teeth on the series was the original MvC) The Infinity Stones, I'm okay with. (Marvel Super Heroes was also a good game and I like the devs revisting the concept)
What I'm not okay with here is with the roster choices. Giving the X-Men the axe was obviously not a smart move here, even on the grounds of obscurity since the X-Men are just about the polar opposite especially with this series, eh, Perlmutter!?
Plus, I do feel like they're overdoing it with the MCU influence on Marvel's side of the roster (Which is saying something because of Nova), which probably explains the sudden redesigns from game to game (Especially with Rocket, I mean what happened?) and the lack of X-Men or Fantastic Four characters on the roster at all. (Sorry Wolverine and Doctor Doom)
Even though this'll probably never happen, what I'm desperately hoping for after the release of the inevitable on-disc DLC characters, Capcom can get the chance to release character packs for specific teams and games, like an X-Men pack (which would most likely have Psylocke, Rogue, Wolverine and Gambit) or a Fantastic Four pack, (Maybe made of two FF members and Doctor Doom and the Super Skrull) which can happen with some of Capcom's other series like Darkstalkers and Devil May Cry.
But considering how this game is gonna turn out, I'm guessing the packs will never happen, even with how Street Fighter V is handling its DLC characters, so there might just be hope in there somewhere.

I haven't had the chance to play it, but from what I've seen? The gameplay is fine, and the roster is questionable, but everything else ranges from eh to "why did they do this". The entire game's art direction is a dumpster fire, and they couldn't even do the music right. The story being better than Street Fighter V's is... Well, that's not saying much, but I find it amusing that Dante is apparently pretty much the strongest character in the whole cast barring Ultron Sigma himself.

The whole production reeks of being both low-budget and rushed. Not as rushed as SFV's launch, but again, that's not saying much.

In addition to the many, MANY complaints I have that have already been listed above, the soundtrack for the game is possibly the weakest VS games have ever had. The Capcom remixes range from okay to bad, but the classic Marvel character themes have been replaced by completely bland and forgettable MCU-style movie scores (which aren't very memorable in the movies to begin with).

The only, inexplicable exceptions, are Captain America and Spiderman's themes, which are remixed into credit music for no reason.

At least Dragonball FighterZ looks good!
