Mod Post: Off-Topic Tuesday

In the comments to these weekly posts (and only these posts), it's your chance to go as off topic as you like. Talk about non-comics stuff, thread derail, and just generally chat amongst yourselves.

Today is World Mental Health Day, with this year having a focus on workplace wellbeing. The link has some tips for yourself and some suggestions for employers.

May I just say that toothache SUUUUUUUCKS!!! (Sorry, had to get that off my chest... I now return you to your normally scheduled Off Topic Tuesday)

Viz is screening the new CGI Anime series INfini-T Forcea which unites Ken the Eagle (G-1) from Gatchaman (Or Mark as he was known in Battle of the Planets), Casshan, Hurricane Polymar and Uchuu no Kishi Tekkaman.

Strange sentai news for 2018 as it appears there will be not one, but TWO series next year, Keisatsu Sentai Patoranger (Police Sentai) and Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger (Thief Sentai), which will run separate plots for several months before uniting into one... possibly. It's all sort of vague, but there will be one member of one team who is secretly working for the other (and we don't know which way round that will be).

Theresa May, after a Party Conference Speech last week which satire writers would never have dreamed of trying to get away with because no one would believe it, this week reverted to type with a speech which managed to be everything and nothing to nodoby and everybody respectively.

Harvey Weinstein was fired by the company he founded for multiple allegations of sexual assault. Though good to know you can count on Donna Karan to send completely the wrong message which did lead to Rose McGowan, one of those who has accused Weinstein, to refer to Karan with the memorable turn of phrase "scum in a fancy dress". Karan has since tried to retract her statements.

The Nobel Prize for Physics was won by an international team who identified ripples in space-time caused by gravitational waves.. Which may just be the most science fiction sounding real life shit I've read in a long time.

Trouble brewing in the Rick and Morty fandom following a fracas over, of all things, McDonalds Szechuan Sauce... I think.

And in other McDonalds related news, kudos to Burger King for their clever little advert at the end of "It!", basically a screenshot saying "And this is why you never trust a clown - Burger King"

Mike Pence left in a huff at the start of an NFL game when some players knelt for the national anthem, because it offended him... poor little snowflake. Though as at least one person put it, if he went there whilst claiming his salary, and was already planning on leaving if the protest took place because Trump asked him to (which apparently he did), does this make Pence one of those "Paid protestors" that the Tangerine Bad-Dream gets so riled up about?

And speaking of the man described by John Oliver as "The Harvey Weinstein of Presidents", he has issued a rule change which will severely limit access to female contraception under the Affordable Care Act, because that's just he kind of guy he is.

And speaking of the shadowy embodiment of evil... it's confirmed that in the new Duck Tales series, whilst David Tennant is voicing Scrooge McDuck, his nemesis (well, one of them) Magica De Spell is voiced by his old TARDIS travelling companion, Catherine Tate! :)

The Animated Batman vs Two Face has arrived in digital form, and is Adam West's last work as the Bright Knight of Gotham. It takes a rather... different approach to Two-Face's origin, which was to be expected, but does have some fun cameos, and one surprise guest voice.

Oh, and for those interested, there's a new Star Wars trailer out for "The Last Jedi"!

And our thoughts go out to those impacted by California's current wildfires.
