Any group of people, be it a sports team, a rock band, or your office co-workers, is a political group. Here’s the business you bring to the group, and here’s the business you keep private. Here’s what happens when your private business spills into the office place. Here’s the business that grows like bacteria because somebody misinterpreted somebody’s words or intentions. I’m a guy who could wish someone a happy birthday and offend them. Drama is about finding stress points within the political group and applying pressure. Welcome to JUSTICE LEAGUE. -- Christopher J. Priest

It feels a bit ingenuine that the world would be upset about a terrorist killing a nun when the Justice League and police tripped over each other, given the level of unpleasant news that floats about as 'the norm' these days.

One Death is a tragedy, a million is a statistic.

It's like how the picture of Alan Kurdi, dead in a beach, moved the whole world and made everyone pray and cry for him (to the point some argue it's why Trudeau won in Canada...)... yet many of the people who cried for him were strangely uncaring for all the countless refugees trying to escape Syria... sometimes calling them things one should not call another human being.

The same with the fact that this issue (or the next, I forget) raises the topic of oversight for the League. Okay, but why is this incident the catalyst for that? The JL has been around for years in-universe; why hasn't that been dealt with, if only off-panel?

Yeah, government moves slow, yuk-yuk, but seriously.

I thought Diana's outfit was armor.

Some version have it be an armor forged by hephaestus himself. thus making it divine in origin... I would guess that count as religious garment.

When she earned the armor through rite of combat, she became the Champion of Themyscira, their representative in the outside world. She's supposed to spread their message of peace to the rest of mankind.

She's technically a missionary.

A sexy missionary.

calling a missionary sexy is redundant.

You've clearly been getting different Mormons coming to your door than I have.

Mormon Missionary does require a "sexy", because the first word implies the lack of sexiness

So I’m the only one into bland looking white men in suits that they don’t appear comfortable in?

This is the internet. Somewhere out there is a group of people who watched The Book of Mormon like it was a burlesque show.

Probably on Tumblr.

something about all that repressed sexuality and the uncfortableness of the suit makes me think how eager they are to want to get it off and... ummm yeah... I will leave it at that... too much to play with.

Some of Gammeron's discussion with Victor reminds me of a question I had about Clark Kent. Why doesn't he run for mayor of Metropolis? I even wondered if an alien would ask him that.

"Why isn't Clark Kent mayor, governor or president? Even in your flimsy disguise, you feel a need to lead these beings to a better future."

because unless you're a dictator power is limited. Better to be a life-saver and an inspiration

Because those are roles which have more time commitments and far tighter schedules than "journalist in the field". He couldn't be Mayor and keep ducking out to save people, because he'd have things like civic meetings and delegations to talk to.

Yeah. If you watch Arrow, you’d see that Green Arrow’s life in costume and as the mayor clash a lot.

Do you need to be a natural born citizen to be mayor? You definitely need to be one to be President.

Good to see J’onn acknowledged as MIA... but has me all the more worried about him. Especially with Doc Manhattan on Mars.
