Oh this.

I can't wait till we get to the Justice League of Arkham.

This is such a ridiculous storyline, and I mean that in a good way :)

With the JLs ranging from awesome, like Amazons, to eeh, like Air, to total crack, Arkham!

Yep, Anarchy was Plas's team. Harley, Trickster, Ambush Bug, Creeper, 'Mazing Man (who... probably shouldn't be there)... not a bad crew in some senses, and a bit of redeemed villain vibe.

Yeah, I would think this would be 'maze's first in the DCU appearance.

'bout the only person missing from Plas's team would be the Heckler.

Wasn't there a Justice League of Aliens, too?

Yep...Superman, J'onn, Starfire, Lobo, Starman, Orion, and Guy Gardner (one of these things is only vaguely like the of these things arguably doesn't belong >_>).

Not the *worst* team, but pretty much all brawn. Middle of the pack, all in all

Wasn't Guy revealed to be half alien at the time, when he was "Guy Gardner: Warrior"

Was that actively retconned, or just ignored when he got a ring again?

It was explained in story that Guy's body was actively attacking and expelling his alien physiology, presumably due to interference from Sinestro/Parallax.

I loved this whole story.

Diana and Orin's reactions when someone (Superman, I think) suggested the A stood for America were delightful.

I miss DC's "5th Week" events. They were a lot of fun, this one included. Though Kyle and Wally's Leagues were kind of... dumb.

They still beat Batman's ^^

And yea, 5th week events were great. Wish they still did them!

Yeah. The JSA one, Sins of Youth, plenty of fun ones.

Tangent, Green Lantern: Circle of Fire, Girlfrenzy, Marvel Mangaverse, Marvels comics (Which was *in universe* comics like Steve Rogers and Bucky doing their own story, someone writing about how Daredevil is literally an escape devil from hell, and Spider-man dines on the blood of his enemies, and the X-men is something else)

And I know the way schedules worked changed so they're no longer *necessary*, but an 'event in a week' is just such a good idea.

Dang, yeah, Tangent was a Fifth week set of events, wasn't it. Totally forgot that.

Never read Magnaverse and the "Marvel" Comics were a mixed bag (I remember the Thor one being especially good). Don't know that Marvel really quite had the same handle on those events DC did.

Yea, Marvel didn't do them as much.

Mangaverse was pretty good- enough to get some followup stuff- though not all of the individual titles were (the Punisher was the stinker of that batch). Headed by Ben Dunn, of Ninja High School.

I never read this story, but I'm aware of the spin-offs it created for a while.

I assume it was either time manipulation or white Martians behind all this?

Nah, it was some new threat doing the mental zowie. I think it was an alien working for some alien boss to pave the way... no real followup really happened once they handled this mission, though.

So those soundwaves are powerful enough to stop Superman and Martian Manhunter from flying?

The Advance Man's " Stupid " is half " You big stupid head idiot ", half " I just had to think about the evil plan while standing next to a telepath whom I just lent a power boost ".
