And it's perhaps not an obvious one

So "The Judas Contract" got put through a cuisinart to be a vehicle for Damian and a fairly grab bag selection of Titans, but Teen Titans Go! gets the big screen treatment?

I don't know what monster at Cartoon Network has decreed that "Okay, we show a little Amazing World of Gumball, a little OK KO, maybe a new Steven Universe every now and then? But 90% of our airtime goes to Teen Titans go!" But that person needs to be stopped.

I can only assume this movie is the next step in CN going "YOU TAKE IT! YOU TAKE IT AND YOU FUCKING CHOKE ON IT."

I do understand TTG is getting, like, all the ratings.

I confess, the first 35 seconds tricked me into thinking that it might not be so bad. Good, even! Sure the show is... ahhhh... y'know... But half a minute of legit funny jokes put me in a state where I let myself hope.

Luckily the rest of the trailer brought me back to my senses.

Well, it may be an unpopular opinion among most, but I love TTG and am really looking forward to this.

As I said above, I don't hate the show, I just wish that CN was devoting as much of their attention to better shows, like Steven Universe. Also there are some TTG episodes that just make me go ".... really?" The Cinco De Mayo episode is so cringey I can't bear to watch it. And then of course, there is the "Robin teaches the Titans how to become Slum Lords" episode.

But on the other end of the spectrum, we have the episode where Darkseid was voiced by Weird Al Yankovich, which is the best casting they have ever done for anything ever. Seriously they need to somehow do a gag dub of the DCAU episodes where Darkseid shows up and just have Weird AL dub over all of Darkseid's dialog. It would be amazing.

That first 30 to 33 seconds of the trailer is the funniest thing this show has ever produced. But yeah, let's give a movie to the Toddler Titans.... Please god let this movie bomb so DC will do a Young Justice movie.

God, Teen Titans Go is such a satisfying show. From the legitimately funny black humour, to the delicious tears of a fan base who can't get over an old cartoon that was, at the time heavily derided for not being like the DCAU! You can still watch it in DVD and soon, Bluray. It hasn't vanished! In fact then you can turn off cartoon network, which is an option (meanwhile I don't spend 24 hours a day watching Cartoon Network, I don't live in the US and I don't see a problem with watching something else if something you don't like is scheduled).

Guess what, you sound like those old people who moaned about Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law and Space Ghost coast to coast.

Personally my problem with Cartoon Network isn't the fact that they show a lot of Teen Titans Go, it's the fact that they don't show anything BUT Teen Titans Go. Their scheduling department is just really messed up.

Justice League Action is a great show (portrayal of Wonder Woman notwithstanding) but CN only showed it once a week, Saturday at 7:30 am and barely advertised it. If they had given the show even a fraction of the reruns they give Teen Titans Go then maybe the show would have been renewed for a second season
And at least JL Action gets regular weekly airings. They space out airings of new episodes of Steven Universe for months, and when they do show it they use a bomb format, and then another hiatus for more months. It's killing any momentum the show might get.

They've screwed over airing other shows too. Generator Rex, Beware the Batman. They just cancel their cartoons, air the remaining episodes all at once and then wash their hands of them. Sometimes they don't even bother airing all of the remaining episodes and put them on itunes.

I watched a couple eps out of curiosity - including the much-bashed "Staring at the Future" - and actually found them reasonably entertaining. I think the big stumbling block for most people is that it's not really the kind of show you can binge, because "everyone is a jerk"-style comedy is one of those things that tends to wear very, very thin very, very quickly.

And these days - especially for people who spend as much time on the 'net as we do - binging is king. Just like no superhero fan really goes down to the comic store and picks up whatever's on the rack anymore; everyone waits for the TPB.

I did see a listing on amazon recently for “Lego Aquaman: Rage of Atlantis.” That one hasn’t been announced yet.

I get that. And hell I love the Beast Boy Pyramid Scheme music video.

Doesn't change the fact that every joke that doesn't land reminds me Teen Titans and Young Justice were canceled. And thats not just me. The show itself does it.

A certain point self awareness doesn't stop me feeling bad.

Personally... I think the problem is whoever is in charge of WB in general ATM. So far, alot of stuff I have seen made by them last year has been either a rushed job or a rush mess. Think about
We had Tom and Jerry and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. A crossover movie 2 properties that have little to nothing and hard blend or change thing with each other, while having some of the worst squash animation scene seen in a LONG time
Justice League movie was a rush production with 2 directors.
LEGO Ninjago movie seemed to have gone through ALOT of editing and ended up to be the weakest of the LEGO movies to me. Not bad, but still not as what the original and Batman lego brought.
So a movie on TTG seems like what WB would want. Something popular to cash in, cheap to make to not hurt them (like those Sheltzerberg movies that seem to have died out... for now...)
It just that this is painful because when given the right elements and time, both DC and WB have made memorable movies with their properties, and this trailer makes feel like that they just want... MONEY.
It just so transparent, I just want these guys to just try to make quality work and not just building up more cash grabs...

If Aquaman can get a movie, anyone can?

Wow! I wish they have the B:BatB Aquaman show up and upstage them for such an OUTRAGEOUS claim! But till then... he is teaming up with Scooby Doo. No, seriously, Brave and the Bold is teaming up with Scooby Doo!

But seriously, considering how in 2017, we had movies to and R-rated Baywatch (a show that had a classic sitcom set ups with lots of fanservice scenes) and Emojis, using Aquaman as low standards is a little too late.
