Okay. them finding an actual human civilization around is something I like. I mean... why couldn't some humans been able to re-start civilization at some point?
has it ever been explored in any PotA work before?

Not only has it been explored, it's actually fairly common. The second movie, Beneath the Planet of the Apes, is direct sequel about an underground civilization of telepathic mutant who worship a warhead, whereas the fifth original, Battle, and the last two Serkis films are about Caesar leading his apes against post-apocalyptic humans.

Then there's the series, which had things like innocent human farmers being terrorized by apes or a human cult planning to gas all the apes.

Oh, and the original Caesar is the son of Cornelius and Zira after they traveled back to the present day. So finding Kong? Not much weirder than a lot of Planet of the Apes material.

I am aware of the time travel plot, but i haven't really bothered with any of the sequels so... xD
"Beneath" is kinda the opposite of what i meant, though. Not mutant. simply humans who were able to restart civilization in some way and who, because Apes weren't near them, weren't enslaved or anything............... there was a tv show?

Yup! Aired in 1974. 14 eps. Even had Roddy McDowall in it! Takes place ten years after the original, and largely ignores the events of the sequel films (or may be an AU of the first film/series).

There was also a 1975 animated series, Return to the Planet of the Apes, which was closer to the original novel than the films (and so was also its own continuity).

And a Marvel Comics series that ran from 1974-77.
