It's a Batman as dark detective issue and introduces my first original Bat villain who'll play a big role going forward. I kind of love it. -- Tom King

That could describe this whole run, to be fair.

Look I have been wrong about King before. Hell I have been wrong about King several times, something about his openings to stories just put me off. So I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

But I have no clue in hell how is pre-teen, no so smart, brat is going to be a legit threat.

He is rich........... Okay jokes aside, Gail Simone did a pretty good job with Knightfall.

I have a friend who worked as a prison guard, he said it was a step up from putting down animals at the humane society. but that isn't the point.
he said that the only thing he ever saw inmates learn in prison is how to be smarter at breaking the law. (not THAT much smarter, because, they still got caught again, so you know...)
This kid just got thrown into Arkham, Gotham's dumping ground for the likes of the Joker, the Riddler, Two-Face, Zsasz, Poison Ivy, etc. I'd bet the psychos there would find him a willing student.

Was just gonna say this. This is actually a great opportunity to tell a story about how prison *creates* villains.

So they lock kids up in Arkham, too? You'd think they'd have a juvenile version or something...

The thing is, that very concept was introduced in Batman and The Signal #1, released on the exact same day.

IS King expecting him to be a reoccuring villain? I could see him just wanting him for this story alone and if anybody else wants to use him, well that's their business.

My only questions are....why does Bruce need a table that big and why does Selina have to sit at the other end?

have you SEEN the batfamily... I am not sure that table is big ENOUGH....

as far as Selina, that was Alfred's idea. He is tired of having to replace the linens EVERY DAY and they already lost the bad china, he doesn't want to risk the good china.

alternatively.... Selina likes to watch Bruce imitate a cat and crawl across the table to her.

Yes, but do they stay long enough for dinner and when it's not a big crisis?
