Oooh, snap!

Oh, Bats.
From Justice League Adventures #20 (not my scan, by the way). The League's emotions are magnified by the Psycho Pirate. Hilarity ensues.

That's kinda weird cause, at least in the shows, they never ever hinted Clark as being even remotely interested in Diana.

And I doubt Bruce would think that Clark would be unless there really was something there.

Also, Is J'onn having another one of those "oh god everyone on this planet is a selfish asshole, what am I doing here trying to save them?" attacks?

There's a weird, long tradition of comics writers/artists shipping Superman and Wonder Woman based on them having the same powers (er, that is, "being equals"). I think the story is riffing on that.

Yea I'm familiar with those, it's just that from what I saw in the DCAU it never was even hinted it, so its weird to see Batman bring it up in here.

There's also a long tradition of writers not bothering to remember that different versions of a character are different. :/

didn't clerks (movie) ship this idea too?

If I remember correctly, J'onn is influenced as well, he started crying about how everyone from his planet's dead and stuff. But eventually, he manages to shut off the emotion part of his brain and save the day.

Reporter: Thank you, Martian Manhunter! You just saved the world! How do you feel?

J'onn: I do not. *walks away*

Of course! All the guys in the DC universe want Diana, and all the chicks want Dick! ;o>

Grayson, that is.

I remember there was a conversation on SD1.0 about how it was safe for lesbians and gay men to crush on Dick and Diana without losing their homo street cred.

I remmeber that! I think I was part of it. I think we had a few more on the list too.

[identity profile] scottyquick.insanejournal.com 2009-08-12 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
Dinah? Was Dinah on the list?

[identity profile] timemonkey.insanejournal.com 2009-08-12 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
Dinah and Babs I believe.

Did we pass a rule where all aliens were okay since they're not human and don't count?

[identity profile] zordboy.insanejournal.com 2009-08-12 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure if Dinah was on the original list, but Babs definitely was.

(I want to add Lois, as a suggestion, but I might get shot down)

Have you noticed all the exceptions are women?

I've nothing but love for all Loises myself, but you won't get Icon's vote.

I don't remember the alien rule, but perhaps I had wandered off by then. I support it, though, since it means guilt-free additions of J'onn and G'kar.

Well, Cap's on mine, I think you can have Dinah in the interest of equal numbers.

is it weird that I've never actually read a comic with Steve in it, but I love him so?

Hmmm, anyone else on yours?

no, that's a pretty appropriate reaction to him after any amount of exposure

Jean-Luc Picard, and possibly Benjamin Sisko (Jake's a bit of a mood-killer). Clearly, the moral watchdogs are right, and watching too much Star Trek during my formative years has perversely warped my sexuality.

Except, amusingly enough, Guy himself, who is her only male peer apart from J'onn with whom she's on good, close, friendly terms without a hint of attraction on any side.

Which is why, if I ever got a job with DC, Guy and Diana's kooky space adventures would be my whole first arc.

Everyone breathing, that is.

Okay, that's everyone.
