I was thinking of the Flint water crisis, but I think we're on the same page here. Ignoring problematic industry for the sake of jobs is not something that is okay here. Yeah it would suck if the plant closed, but it still needed to close, and it is not Superman's job to deal with long term economic problems. That is more an issue for the local Chamber of Commerce and town council, finding a way to market their town to bring in employment.
