It's amusing how Forge is always evil in alternate universes.

Evil and apparently in possession of all of his limbs.

Is he, or is he wearing normal pants that hides legs like all normal pants?

I'm asking because I didn't see the comic yet, but also because I always thought annoying how almost every artist made a point to cut this pant's leg, including an X-Men uniform, in order to show his prosthetic leg. Forge sure seems proud of his handicap.

"Forge sure seems proud of his handicap."

It is odd that he has the power to invent anything. .. except a convincing looking prosthetic.

Except why should he?

Perhaps he realised that "convincing" isn't important to him. His leg is functional, and effective and that's what really matters. If other people choose to find his technology unattractive, that's there problem, not his.

Just always struck me as odd that he looks that way when he's so desperate for acceptance that he built an anti-mutant gun for racists.

Then again, IIRC he lost his leg around the same time that a bunch of his army buddies we're killed so maybe it's a guilt thing.

Forge is a character with issues, a LOT of issues, but that's not one of them. I certainly wouldn't say he was desperate for acceptance, he's more or less anti-social, one reason he's never been on a team for long, but will accept a role as tech support.

He also didn't build the anti-mutant gun for racists, or because he wanted to be popular. He was a well known, independent weapons development contractor (and former solider) who had built a device to recreate the abilities of the Spaceknight ROM's Neutraliser and in so doing created a device to nullify superpowers.

The prototype for this was then taken from him, against his wishes, by the US Government (Well, Henry Gyrich and Val Cooper on the instructions of the President) to deal with Rogue who had been framed for killing a SHIELD Agent, and they wanted to show they didn't need superteams by using it on her. That went about as well as you'd expect with Storm getting hit with the beam instead.

He could easily cover his prosthetics with clothing. I'm pretty sure he could at least paint them to match his flesh tone. He clearly doesn't want to. I take it Forge is proud of how his power let him overcome his handicap.

Normally he wore tiny short's in his civies, so both his legs were on view.

On the rare occasions he wore an X-man uniform, I think he was either just more comfortable with the leg being exposed (since it doesn't need fabric to protect it), wanted it to be accessible if he needed access to some tech, or was deliberately making it visible because why not?
