The issues that lead up to this were a real drag. Barely anything happened, and most of the team got very little page-time. As a lead-in to this event, they did not generate much excitement in me, and I gave up.

There's a reason the original group were given the name, and none of the current batch have earned the right.

Because all the characters debuted in comics published when Marvel was known as Atlas Comics.

Jimmy Wu is also an Atlas character. His debut was in The Yellow Claw comic.

Amadeus is great and Shang Chi is one of Marvel's most underrated characters. The rest of the team OTOH...

Silk is an interesting idea that was horribly misused* and I've already forgotten the names of most of the others.

*Also somewhere along the line they forgot she's supposed to be the same age as Spider-Man.

I don't even know the names of any of the original AoA aside from Jimmy. Majority of comic fans probably don't either. There's at least potential with Silk, Luna, Crescent and White Fox.

Do they mean for Namor to seems as sympathetic as he does? Because gotta be honest, I pretty much agree with most of what he says these days.

He's certainly not wrong in wanting to free the dragon but the AoA are trying to do exactly what he's asking for and he's still threatening to go to war. It's not like when the Inhumans' attitude to the Terrigen Mists sterilizing/killing mutants was "go fuck yourself".

I mean, that was more down to bad writing than anything. The Inhumans were working on a solution to M-Pox, and when nothing could be found Medusa didn’t even hesitate to destroy the Mists.

That's not even what happened by the end, the whole "Medusa knows about the Terrigen cloud in the atmosphere" was retconned in the laziest way possible:

I think the "how much must my people give to assuage your people's pain" line really resonated with me.

After all the bullshit with Roxxan Corp and the various times Atlantis has been destroyed/dispersed it really kinda seems like Namor has good reason to be fed up with "give us some time well figure it out"
