I mean this is one issue (not even written by Aaron) in an alternate reality storyline in which the United States is being propped up by superheroes and all other nations (from what we can tell, seeing as how Canada is a wasteland as well) are blighted. It’s not like we have any reason to believe that this is the status quo going forward
