Anytime they want to retcon the retcon of America's origin, I'm down for it.
I mean, was "extra-dimensional utopian full of space lesbians" THAT bad of an idea that it had to be altered?

Look, I'm almost always in favor of diverse writers getting to write diverse characters... but between Gabby Rivera and Kalinda Vazquez, it feels as though America hasn't been treated as well as she has by writers like Al Ewing or Kieron Gillen.

You know who would be great to tackle the character, someone who's good at incorporating a Latino/Latine/Latinx (take your preference) experience AND dealing with parallel dimensions? Carlos Hernandez (the Sal and Gabi books).

Its frustrating. Like really frustrating when the origins of minority characters are screwed with for no reasons accept to add tragedy or whatever.

We got enough bs in real life, can't we just have some spots of joy in fiction?

I don’t think so. Multiverse of Madness retconning the MCU to be its own multiverse aside, they’ve got different hair to when they were in the MCU.

They mention Master Pandemonium so it looks like they are from the 616 or one of its off-shoot timelines.

At first I thought this retcon was made in preparation for America's MCU debut to make her more 'mainstream' but was pleasantly surprised when we actually got to see the Utopian Parallel and America's two mothers in the film itself. Hopefully that sticks and we get to see America reunited with her moms again.

I’m surprised they didn’t try to do anything with how Billy was supposed to have created the Utopian Parallel. Why else would they have introduced America Chavez in the Doctor Strange/Scarlet Witch movie of all things, especially with the emphasis on her boys in Wandavision?

It would have been nice the writers of Wanda Vision had written Multiverse of Madness instead of the guy who wrote Loki. I listened to the commentary track for Multiverse and he loves to talk about how Wanda is such a relatable person in the film despite ALL the mental/physical violations and cold-blooded murder.

The MCU is looking awfully crowded moving forward. I hope there's enough room for America to branch out on adventures of her own.

Didn't the retcon keep her two moms, them being reframed as regular doctors/scientists rather than superheroes, and it was the Utopian Parallel that was erased?
