They were just really inspired because the Illuminati nearly spanked them once.
Then Reed disabling their super duper better than ever shapeshifting, because that's what Reed does.
Bendis never bothers with internal logic...
Though after fighting with the Kree for millions of years, you'd think that they had something like that...
